Wimmera Racing Club
The Wimmera Racing Club was founded in 1998 and was the first regional racing club in Australia. The 11 founding clubs combined forces to secure country racing in the region. Wimmera Racing Club now encompasses 9 racecourses throughout the Wimmera Region of Victoria: Ararat, Donald, Great Western, Horsham, Murtoa, Nhill, St Arnaud, Stawell and Warracknabeal. Sheep Hills race at Warracknabeal and Marma races at Murtoa.
From August to April of every racing season, Wimmera's racecourses host Country Cup’s, themed Race Meetings and Christmas Racedays. Featuring events such as Fashions on the Field, live music & after concerts, kid's activities, gourmet wine and food, and even Santa Claus – all our feature meetings are each unique and memorable.
